Hello

I'm Tamia, a multidisciplinary Coast Salish artist with proud heritage of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, blending contemporary and traditional styles through tattooing, painting, murals, and digital design. I'm a lifelong creative, and the founder of Pulse Vancity, a tattoo studio that’s become a thriving hub for artists. My work is rooted in storytelling, identity, and community that continues to evolve across mediums.

My Story

My passion for art started before I could even spell it. As a kid, I was constantly drawing, painting, and chasing that rush of creating something meaningful. In high school, that spark grew into something bigger—I poured myself into art, taking on every opportunity, from mastering techniques to painting large-scale murals across my school’s walls. That dedication earned me a scholarship to Simon Fraser University, where I pursued Fine Arts and pushed myself even further as a painter.

At the same time, I started learning how to tattoo. What began as curiosity quickly became a career, as I built up a loyal clientele and grew a business that blended artistry and connection. I never stopped painting or drawing, but tattooing unlocked a new level of purpose. Through it, I started receiving more and more requests for Native designs—especially from family, friends, and others in my community. Honouring those stories, those traditions, and that lineage lit a fire in me. I fell in love with Coast Salish art in a way that grounded me in who I am and gave my work a deeper direction.

Today, I specialize in Coast Salish artwork across multiple forms. My tattoo studio, Pulse Vancity, has grown into a 1500 square-foot creative space where I’ve been proud to create jobs and opportunities for other women. Whether it’s tattooing, murals, album covers, or digital graphics, everything I do is about visual storytelling—celebrating culture, identity, and connection with each piece. I’m still that kid chasing the magic of creation, but now I do it with intention, community, and a lot more ink.

I'm always taking on new projects and would LOVE to work together!
